The World!

I’m waiting at Brisbane International Airport for a flight to Vancouver, as part of a Buckley Vann International networking and study tour taking in Vancouver, Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, Helsinki and Olso. I’m travelling with my BVI colleague Warren Rowe, and we’ll be meeting with a range of planners and urbanists and looking at the latest and greatest in each city between now and mid May.

So look out world, you’re about to be reviewed by – and you can follow our learnings on twitter (@gregvann or @buckleyvann), Facebook (via the Buckley Vann page – please go and “like” it!), or on LinkedIn.

I’m really excited about what we’ll see and learn, and the people we’ll meet. A particular shout out to Gordon Price in Vancouver, who has been wonderful in linking us in to his network there, the good folks at HDR for their willingness to help out, Paul Farmer at the American Planning Association and Peter Richards for the Olso low down.

With due recognition of Status Quo, I hope to be “posting all over the world” in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for the next exciting installment!

I’m a planner at the city of north vancouver. I moved over to Vancouver from Brisbane (worked at BCC and numerous others) last year to diversify my experience. If you would like to get in touch with some local government staff here or just have a chat about things give me a yell.
